The Chicago Journal picks up the Chicago Astronomer

A publication reporting on news off the south Loop and near west side of Chicago picked up the Medill School of Journalism story recently on the Chicago Astronomer and ran it on page one...

We did the photo shoot for this Chicago Journal story on Monday the 19th of April by the Adler on a very windy and chilly day...

My photographer Jason, was very cool and professional and I did whatever I could to make it a great shoot....and that meant lugging the massive C11 beast to the site. Jason assisted in setting up and we were done in 45 minutes.

I'm glad I did. The beast makes an excellent model.

A great thanks to Spencer Rinkus from the Medill School of Journalism for the story and Jason Geil for the photo...both very nice media men....and the Chicago Journal for picking it up.

That's great for Spencer that his story was picked up. I hope you charged a cartage fee to bring out the C11. Lol!

Spencer (writing) and Jason (photographing), did a great job independently from each other and for different media outlets.

The C11 was indeed a brute to not only transport, but to relocate the SCT for the shoot....once in front of the Adler and moving to the north side of the Adler for a skyline vantage.

It was also very gusty, (as my hair and jacket shows), and pretty cold.

But, the C11 is a great scope and is wonderful model for Urban Astronomy. It was well worth the effort for the shoot.

(I dig the shot of Jason shooting me... ;D )

I should have charged union rates for the cartage...
