I see you have deleted a bunch of psts in this forum.
Please take me off this list and ban me if you will.
I thought this was a forum of REAL ametuer astronomers and scientific thinkers as well.
But as i see you want to fuel the rederic of the rediculous.
I guess it takes all kinds but it is sad when one with the ability to show others the truth they grasp ahold of the rediculous.
I figured something was up when you TROLLED into an ametuer / professional group forum in yahoo.

I feel sorry for the ones like yourself that have the internet and reality at the grasps of your fingertips.


But turn around and want to give the likes of " jim hogland" and im sure others some sort of retrospect in credability.
Slam Phil Plait all you want but he is the only "TRUE" professional out there telling the truth of others falacies!!!
It is sad that others dont speek out. But they are scared that fuel on the fire will just give them more flame.

I know that reality , astronomy, and science is mundane and alot boring.

but psudoscience , and science fiction is not reality !!

Good luck on your non reality message board .. I for one am done waisting my time...
As I'm sure others as well will come to the same conclusion.

If you took the time to look, all of your mis-spelled and incoherent postings were moved to the Astronomers Soap Box board yesterday - all in it's original context. This category was not the proper venue for your venting, as it is quite evident you came directly to this thread, (without interaction of the other topics), to continue the un-necessary antagonistic commentary of views other than your own.

Your angry and acerbic tone in your posts were tolerated and retained. Your posts shall remain. We are a friendly bunch here, and I am indeed sorry that you did not find it comfortable on the forum, but I shall respect your wishes.

There are plenty of forums and boards out there where I'm sure you shall find peace, community and like minded astronomers. Plenty of room for all of us in all our diversities, and no need for harsh negativity. There is no place for it here, and I am pleased you have seen that for yourself and acted accordingly.

As for feeling sorry for me, I have no need for your misguided pity, as I believe I can accept all viewpoints and opinions without biased judgment or retaliatory attacks... but thanks anyway. And thanks for the wish of good luck, but the forum seems to be doing fine regardless. Beyond my original expectations, the forum has turned out great, but I appreciate being in your thoughts. Every little bit Helps!

I hope you get your new 10" reflector soon, sounds like an excellent tool. We would have enjoyed your first observations.

I like that.

Galileo had to eat tough crow when he knew he was right. I remember reading about him when I was a small child.

One part stuck with me all these years was the time he and three of his friends went down into the cool catacombs to sleep, away from the incessant heat of a hot summers night. When he awoke the next day, his three friends were dead....from the vapors of the cool wind!


Too bad Billy couldn't play nice. That Hoagland dude must have really did a number on him.

You Know Guys,

If people cant play fair then why play at all. No one ever said everyone was right or perfect. If you cant play with the Big Boys then I say get out and watch from the sidelines. Then when you can come play make sure you know what your talking about. Make sure you have the Names right

Back in the old days of the early Astronomers yes they all had to eat alot of tough Crow. Back then they didnt want to accept that someone else may be right. They didnt want to accept the new theoryies that were coming into view. They all looked down on what everyone was doing because they wanted to be right. I guess we have to thank the early Astronomers for all their hard work and dedication to the Sciences.

Hail the early crazy Astronomers and their whacked out ideas! The Earth is still flat, the sun circles the Earth...and heavier objects fall faster. And missing socks vanish into black holes around Alpha Centuri.

That's all there is to it.

But really, I have no tolerance to closed mindedness in any subject. That is self-defeating and retro progressive thinking. It comes to a point where debating the issue no longer becomes productive and turns into an argument. At that point it ceases.

Tycho Brahe got a silver nose for being "disagreeable". Let that be a lesson for all.

Well you know some people think they know everything & that no matter what you say you are wrong. I have known a few of those in my day. I may know alot but far from everything.
