Well, I finally received the 1.25" adapter, for the Meade DS114, and the Celestron 1.25" EP set. I had a Nikon Coolpix 8700 laying around and decided to have some fun. Using the widest shot I could, I put the camera to a 25mm EP. Looking through the sight of the camera, I adjusted the focus on the telescope, and I was off.



Camera Settings: f/2.8; 1/19 sec exposure; ISO 50.


The next shot was done through a 32mm EP.



Camera Settings: f/2.8; 1/34 sec exposure; ISO 50.

Still waiting on the 10" Dob I have ordered, and I'm "learning" the ins and outs of a Canon D20.... hopefully I will be posting some much better shots in the near future. Though, for a first experience, I'm rather pleased with the results.

The images you posted are no longer viable or inaccessible.

I would like to view your first attempts in astrophotography.

Not much differnce between the two eyepieces, but I like the way the Moon hangs there in space. Cropping?

I did crop both of these, being that Photobucket restricts the size to 1024 x 768. Had I just lowered the size of the photos, you wouldn't be able to make out as much detail. Just waiting for the skies to clear up a bit to try getting some more shots with the better camera.
