[Al Degutis]

Here's my first images of M31.

The first one is a stack of 15 two minute exposures for a total of 30 minutes. The second one is a total of 45 minutes.

Not a great shot, but a start. My goal is to get about 2 hours total to bring out more details around the edges.

Last Friday (2005-Sep-30) was a nice clear night with average seeing. While I waited for Mars to get higher in the sky, I set up my Canon DSLR piggybacked on my LX200 again and shot about 2 hours of exposures of M31. I finally got some time to combine and process all the individual exposures. While I still need to improve things and remove artifacts, I am much more pleased with these results.
