Here's a shot of the Moon, Spica, and Jupiter

Good pics Kat, I got a few myself, but I didn't bother wrestling the scope to get Spica. I was using a small Meade Jupiter tripod with my camera screwed to it, heh, it fits. It was a bit of a hassle getting the camera down the middle of the eyepiece.

Looks like I'm going to have to stop drinking beer, and save for a good eyepiece with a camera in it.

Be sure to try, and get more close up pictures this coming full Moon. I like to edit them with the crater names. I intend to move a bit South of where we took pictures last time, near the Apollo 15 landing site.

Damn it... I'm out of beer (astronomer go-go-juice)!

Okay, you guys. I see I'm going to have to straighten you out.

Martinis are for cocktail hour on the boat.

Beer is for fishing.

Bloody Marys work best for astronomy. You get tomato juice for your health, and booze to blame your shaky pictures on in the same drink. Plus, if you add olives or celery, that takes care of your veggies for the day.

I do think astronomy works better when your half in the bag, because when the wind shakes the scope, your jittering eyes compensate and you get a sharp image!!
