Fellow Chicago Astronomers...
Over the past few months, I received personal emails from individuals seeking out places in the Chicago area to rent telescopes. I know not of any, and I usually recommend purchasing a dob for just a little more than it would cost to rent.
And besides, the abuse the scopes receive just in operation and transport would ruin the observation experience due to misaligned optics and scratched surfaces.
But regardless, the inquiries keep coming in, (One today), and I ask:
Do any of the Chicago Astronomer members know of places that rent telescopes?
