The Chicago Astronomer will return to Horner Park on Tuesday 22 August 2023 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm as we will meet our fans on top of "Horner Hill" and share the urban skies.
The Chicago Astronomer will conduct a Public Observation session at Horner Park - "2741 W. Montrose" - Tuesday evening from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. We will have a near 1/4 Moon to enjoy and explore the craggy surface features.
We will have a near 1/4 Moon to enjoy and share. Pay special attention to the "Terminator"...the line between light & dark. Here you can observe the illuminated peaks of the Lunar mountains and shadow of crater rims in our telescopes. I have spend decades marveling at the Moon and never get tired...neither will Chicago Astronomer fans.
Bring your telescopes if you have them and we will assist you in using them and explain all aspects of urban astronomy.
I recommend bug spray, a blanket and your curiosity of the cosmos.
