Its that time of year I take off my mask and become the real me. So if you guys arent nice just beware I may come calling in the middle of the night on my broom to scare you. I will bring a few friends to Haunt the night away but it would be fun to Haunt down the Witch's Nebula and the Broom Nebula but I know we cant see them from here what a bummer. I hope you all have a Frightfully Happy Night Haunting down the elusive DSO's that dont want to be seen from the City .

'Galactic Ghoul' Rears its Spooky Head

A "monster" lurking behind a blanket of cosmic dust is unveiled in this new Halloween image from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Resembling a ghoul with two hollow eyes and a screaming mouth, this masked cloud of newborn stars was uncovered by Spitzer's heat-seeking infrared eyes.

Hey, that Spitzer shot was pretty cool!

I always was a great fan of Halloween and I am always kidded about an incident to this day.

In the early '80's, I got myself a pumpkin, carved it, saved the seeds and was happy with the results. I wanted to admire my carved work and didn't know where to place the masterpiece. Well...I enjoy television and what better place than on top of the tv set.

A couple of days later, after returning home from a full days of work, I turned on the television to only be greeted by buzzes, zaps and smoke emanating from the back of the set. What had happened was that the heat of the tv, hastened the decomposition time of the pumpkin, and the juices overflowed the plate it was resting on and dripped into the chassis.

Lesson learned.
