Luckily, it has been a couple of sunny days here in Chicago and we get to follow the transit of Super Sunspot #1711...
The air was pretty much steady, with occasional blobs of turbulence, delivering some decent imaging...
I like this image above. Shows nice magnetic plasma fields!
Utilizing a yellow filter variable polarizing filter and adjusting the white balance of the Canon Powershot S3, we get details at different wavelengths...
Some playful post processing...
Looks like SunSpot #1714 is forming nicely for a swing Earthside...
Not the perfect solar observing session, but better than most. Hopefully on the next clear day, I'll set-up the C11 for some wide aperture imaging...
