Sorry I haven't posted in a bit! I've been a-lurking, but also our computer/connection has experienced some mighty annoying extra slowness of late. Just remember... out in the boonies, it's a tradeoff between lack of light pollution and lack of any speed greater than 26.4kbps. Unless you're flush enough to afford those gouging satellite/wireless connection rates... but I digress...
Hey, I know some of you will find this of interest! It's about Ancient Astronomers, but as it's a current event, I thought I'd put the initial post here with your pardon. An old buddy of mine has put together this new organization, which has a LOT of promising events and things coming up:

I can't wait for the discussion series starting this Saturday! I won't be able to make it to all five, but I sure plan on being there tomorrow night and 10/30 as well. If any of you find yourselves in the Horicon Marsh area of Wisconsin, watching ducks or pretty leaves or whatnot of a near future Saturday, by all means participate! Herman Bender is a fascinating speaker.
Plus it'd be cool to see some of you at some point, until I can make it to one of the C.A. parties!
