I am a novice that has little experience in AP. Im looking for a teacher who I would pay for AP lessons of all aspects (webcam, registax for planets and moon, and wide field ect.

Current equipment includes :

1. 9.25 celestron cpc fork mount edge HD (yes I know the limitations of fork vs gem mount).

2. Hyperstar system

3. Canon eos 2ti 550 modified my gary honis full spectrum

will purchase laptop. Still deciding on softwear on maxum DL ,backyard eos, ect. I will also need help on photoshop ect.

I can help you with that. The main system I am using right now is a C-14HD with Hyperstar and a QSI-583ws CCD camera. This is permanently mounted at a dark site (www.mtbrownewell.net). The Hyperstar setup is definitely a double edged sword for what you want to do - the f/2 photographic speed does make it possible to take sub exposures short enough that you do not need a wedge. But it also makes it highly sensitive to background light and the very steep light cone at f/2 will require very careful flat frame calibrations to get decent results. If this is a portable setup, these have to be redone every time you set up. The fact that there is no easy way to do quick visual checks with the scope takes a great deal of getting used to and finding workarounds, especially for doing your initial mount alignments. On my 14 I have a second 50mm finder as a guide scope with a Starshoot Autoguider that I not only use to guide, but it also serves well as a video finder scope. www.mtbrownewell.net

I recommend mtbrownewellobserv! Why? It's because he knows what he is talking about. He can take you 10 billion light years away and beyond mag 17. He takes good quality picture with multi-exposures totaling hours regularly and many of them together at one session. I am proud to say I was a student of his.

I second Tom's recommendation. Chris knows more about AP than anybody I know. If Chris is willing to teach you, take him up on it. I wish I had.
