Since seeing Venus in the daytime as a perfect black circle in front of the Sun earlier this year, I've been pretty lazy about posting my observing. This one, though, deserves posting. I might not get it done today, but I promise I will get the full report posted soon.

This morning I once again saw Venus in broad daylight. Not as that precious black dot in front of the Sun, or as the brilliant beacon it is when in a dark sky near greatest elongation from the Sun, but as a point of light in the blue sky. Full report as soon as I can, but here is a teaser pic. It was taken through my 6" Dob, with a 7.5"mm EP.

Just saw it again, naked eye, 9:31 AM CDST. It was much tougher this time, but it's still there.

I'm not going to get this done today, but don't let me weasel out of posting a full write up. Last saw Venus naked eye about ten minutes ago, at 11:10 AM CDST.

Very windy, though, and lots of weird things going on in the upper atmosphere, too. All kinds of crazy clouds, Sun halos, sundogs, Luna, and Venus. It's been a good morning, although I haven't done anything I needed to do.
