Quick Sunspot shots 31 July 2012
Before I take the C11 and 90mm apart for mods and cleaning, they needed some tweaking before our Full Moon Rise session on the 1st of August. Things get loose and banged around during transport.
Finishing up the temp tweaks, the Sun had invaded my worksite, just outside of my garage - and a good opportunity to test out my new MaxView II eyepiece.
Sunspot 1532 and friends were making a great showing...
The first three were taken through the 90mm refractor, MaxViewII with Full aperture Seymour solar filter and the pocket Polaroid camera, which takes sharper pics than my main camera, but is limited in other features.
The rest were taken thru the C11 with the same camera and full aperture solar filter, transferring the MaxViewII to the right Diagonal...
Zooming in with the camera, still getting decent shots...
And zooming in all the way without going into digital zoom....
In this first one above, atmospheric condition steadied for a moment and one can observe the magnetic fields surrounding the sunspot...
I switched between several white balance settings - AWB-Tungsten-Flourescent - for different wavelength features.
Some more tweaking, but I like.
