The C11 needed a shake out and a tune up since the hectic day of the Venus Transit of 05 June. Things were loose, mis-placed parts etc... I needed to get the assembly together before our next Park District session...and took some time to knock out some of the problems. But, sun group 1520 was swinging around the limb nicely from pics I have seen...and thought I would take a crack at it as well from my garage observation site.
Came out quite decent...
Using the full aperture filter on the C11, the details were great, including very nice faculae and granulation. I found that the pocket Polaroid camera takes slightly better images than the Canon Powershot S3. The Orange hued pics are from the Canon...
Solar imaging is never easy and I'm seriously considering obtaining a Baader photographic solar film - keeping the Full aperture C11 filter for strictly visual usage.
But these Super Sun Spots are very photogenic...
