I may be a little late to the game with this one but I just discovered it online.

Each "instrument" sound you hear is actually various NASA Voyager 1 & 2, Injun 1, Hawkeye, IMP1 and ISEE 1 space probe recordings compressed electronically down to its fundamental harmonic frequency. At this range, the space recordings sound like unique musical instruments.

I plan on having this playing at one of our next next outreach events. This way the viewers can see and hear what they are looking at.
