August 2011 Issue

Chicago Magazine did a very nice write up on the Chicago Astronomer in their article on Adult Education classes & Connecting with Nature in the city.

Highlighting my association with the Adler Planetarium as a Telescope Facilitator and the Chicago Park District as the Resident Astronomer, it invites all sky lovers to visit the Chicago Astronomer website and share the skies with the crew at our Star Parties....

The Dunes would be cool, but Conway would be a little better. Less overall skyglow, more wide open horizon, less chance of dew, 16" and other resources at our disposal. The Dunes are good for a number a reasons, but Conway offers a better overall astronomical experience. Either way, count me in. I might initiate a new thread.

It happened in Merrillville... Had to turn off every other streetlight to meet the budget.
