50/50 Chance for partly cloudy skies

I can't remember the last time we were all clouded out for so many star gazing opportunities and activities this wet spring...but we are going to attempt one tonight.

There is a cloud mass moving over the Chicago area now, but...behind it...looks all clear. I'm gonna chance it and call a session.

I will set up a scope this Saturday evening by the Adler area by 8:00 pm and attend to our fans and visitors till 11:00. If clear skies, just west of the Adler, if not...then to the east of the Adler by the Sundial.

I will try to image Saturn via webcamming and there will be a ISS pass and three Iridium flares to observe. There will also be a fireworks display off of Navy Pier later in the evening. The Taste of Chicago is going on now, so take that into consideration.

Patrick, you are correct.

This mass will pass, but there another system that blew up right behind it.

Another damned cancellation.

Clear as a bell here in West Texas but no travel scope!!! Grrrr...
