I told Joe a few days ago that I wanted to sell my scopes. He emailed me back with some kind words, and said to keep the images coming. So I told him I'd do some this weekend and put them up. Here's a few of the Swan Nebula and the Trifid Nebula. Not anything close to what some guys get, but I'm just a small-time imager, I'm mainly a visual observer.
These are all single shots, no stacking, no processing, except for a small brightness and contrast adjustment.
All shot with the Megrez 110ED, Canon 10D prime focus on the LXD75 mount. All were ISO400 except the first, which was ISO1600. The exposures were:
Pic 1 - 76 seconds
Pic 2 - 66 seconds
Pic 3 - 80 seconds
Pic 4 - 89 seconds
Pic 5 - 51 seconds
Since this was the first time shooting Deep Sky stuff out here at the in-laws with the Megrez, I was just sitting in a chair clicking the remote shutter, and wasn't timing anything. When I got bored waiting, I clicked again to end the exposure. Next time I'll let the camera run and time the exposures a bit better. I'm going to try some stuff at home and see how much I can pull out in the light pollution we have there. It's amazing how little you can see around my house compared to everything you can see out here. It's sure nice being in skies that have zero light pollution for a change.
