I received an e-mail that I can get free shipping on "Starry Night™ Complete Space & Astronomy Pack Deluxe Edition."
It is 49.95.
I'm also looking at Deepsky for $52.99.
Is anyone familiar with these software packages?
They both appear to be a significant step up from "The Sky - Student Edition" I have now that came with my XT8.

I have Starry night here but have not loaded it yet as I use The Sky. But I have heard good things about it. I heard you can do more with Starry Night but I guess thats just my opinion.

Those are both good programs, as well as Redshift, but I use free software, and the ones I have been using currently are Hnsky, Stellarium and Skyorb. Excellent graphics on the latter with real Earth Rotation progression.

Celestia is also a great one to use, as you can zoom around the universe, hover above planets and use it as well as a general star chart map.
