It's tough to establish a clear pattern of brightening of this nova.

I understand that it did not brighten as much as it was anticipated this time around, and is dimming quicker than expected.


Perhaps last gasps?

The problem is that a reduction in fuel from the binary would not result in a smaller brightening, but rather a longer interval between brightenings.
