No time frame possible to find life on Mars: NASA scientists

Though there are fair chances of existence of life on Mars, it is too premature to say anything in this regard, a team of scientists involved in Mars exploration mission of NASA said here today.

No time frame can be given to find out whether or not life exists on Mars and it will continue to puzzle scientists for an indefinite period, Amitabh Ghosh, leader of a NASA team overseeing various Mars missions, told reporters.

The team, which is handling the latest Mars Rover Missions, is in the city to make a presentation on Mars exploration at B M Birla Science Centre here.

"So far no concrete signs of life could be found. If there is going to be life on Mars, it will be extreme life in an extreme environment," team member James Rice said.

NASA's explanation is that the Martian whirlwinds and dust devils sweep across the Rovers and give them a good cleaning.

That's doesn't explain the squeegee marks!...
