If anyone was out lookin' up tonight- how would you rate the viewing? I a newbie with an etx90 and just saw Jupiter and 4 moons for the first time. Awesome. Looks like the Sun was just hitting the moons right.

Dave,

Great to have you finally on the forum, and part of the Chicago Astronomer family.

I met Dave at the Lakefront while Chicago Astronomers Alan, Richard and I were enjoying our first mini star party of 2005.

I didn't have a chance to observe this evening, as the skies were quite hazy. I did spent the time mounting my Rigel Quickfinder tho. More on that in another post.

The dance of Jupiters moons are indeed interesting to watch as they change from night to night. First seen by Galileo, they prompted the confirmations that Earth was not the center of all things in the heavens.
