A very good film is "War of the Worlds"

Good writing from H.G. Wells, at a time when real science was coming into being. But even so, sound principals were adhered to. Again the Atom bomb is used against the aliens, this at a time in American history when the bomb was king. The chaos that follows is typical of the expected breakdown of society and the tri colored ocular organ was thought out well.

The Earth based microbes destroying the aliens is top notch and believable, and the color process of movie making of the '50's adds to the mystique of the film.

I like to watch this film during the late fall, while inside all warm and comfy.

This was a good movie. I saw it as a teenager. I thought at the time it was kinda funny. But it did make you think "could this really happen." It is def one for the archives.

I'm looking forward very much to the remake with Tom Cruise in July. I hope they don't mess it up and keep within Wells storyline.

50 years later, the special effects should be cool, but too often remakes are just so dissapointing!

At least it didn't have Will Smith in it!....
