Hello everyone

last night my brother Jim and i went to the Spring Valley Nature Center for a night of viewing, we got there at about 8:50 and met up with Gomer in the parking lot about five minutes latter Donna showed up as well as about two or three other cars of people.

all together i think we had about 15 people at the center, Gomer and i were the only one's with scopes i brought my 8 in classic Celestron and i think Gomer had a 10 in DOB the skies were very clear great viewing .

the stars were out in abundance i saw the Hercules Nebula as well as m11 i tried to see m15 however i couldn't find it even after Gomer showed me were it was duh I'm still learning, we also saw a couple of satellites as well with my bro Jim's binoculars . the weather was quit warm when we got there but as time went on it started to actually get chilly also the Miskito were also out and biting.

over all it was a good time we met a gentlemen by the name of Jim who also bought a 5 inch Meade and wanted to try it out but he never did i think it was because he got there kind of late we left at about 11:00.

Joe this gentlemen also found the Chicago astronomer forum on the INTERNET and i encouraged him to continue digging around in the forum there is a lot to learn and the people are great also i invited him to join the forum who knows? Becky sorry to here you couldn't make it i hope you are doing better.

Great you had a good time Hiram, targeting objects and getting good use from the all too cool orange scope of yours.

Yesterday night was indeed a good night for astronomy. I will post a narrative later on the activities of the Adler crew had last night.

Sorry about not being there I had been at Bartlett High School all day fri teaching Astronomy to Jr's and Sr's (and am now the Astronomy Adviser for the High School) then drove up north sat morn looking at property. So by the time the Star Party arrived I was not doing good. Could not walk very well. So my best bet was to just stay in bed and rest. Im doing better now. Walking is getting better.
