[Al Degutis]

I took some images of M13 on August 5th. I'm still testing my set up and need to work on drift alignment for longer exposures. These were 30 second exposures, two stacked to improve the signal to noise ratio:

A good start and hopefully even better images to come.

I also imaged M27 but I don't have enough exposures to pull enough detail out of the short 30 second exposures.

That is quite a cool shot, and it's amazing what 30 seconds can bring out. Imagine the shots you'll be capturing once you get everything set just so...

I am amazed at how little ole amateur astronomers can capture such cool targets right in their own backyard.

No longer the stuff of the professional astronomer with an observatory.

Thanks. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner. It's been a crazy couple of weeks.

I'm using a Canon EOS Digital Rebel (aka 300D) prime focus (attached to the telescope) on an 8" Meade LX200 Classic (i.e. pre-GPS).

The scope is mounted on my pier, on my observing deck:

I love globulars, too. Especially now that I'm trying more astrophotography and globulars are "relatively" easy to capture.
