[Al Degutis]

Over the winter I picked up a used Meade DSI and have waited for months to get out and use it. I finally had a chance earlier this week. I attempted to image Comet S-W 73 with very poor results. My attempt to image M51 was better:

Not bad for a first night out with the DSI. Not as sharp as I'd like and hope to get in the future.

Al,

It's amazing that you can capture such detail with off the shelf equipment from an object so far away. And this being one of your first efforts.

I think the image is quite cool, and with more experience...they will only get better!...

Thanks for sharing it with us, and I want to see more.
