Wanted to image Jupiter and eventually the moon thru my Intes Micro Alter M503 5" mak-cass which I'm thinking of selling. The GRS was visible (and GRS jr, though I'm not sure it showed up on the images). These were the best from each.

I think the Dob wins again.

Considering one wasn't post tweaked over the other, the dob shows a brighter images and displays two more fainter objects. Slightly more detail in the dob, but both provide good imagery.

Why are you considering selliing the mak? Making room for a new piece of equipment?

It has seen seldom use since I got it in 2003 (for the big Mars opposition). I'll be taking it travelling (first time for this scope) when I go to Stellafane (sell it at the swap tables?). Maybe I'll be surprised at how handy it can be and decide against selling it. The images taken thru it would be a selling point, I hope to take some lunar pics thru it during this next month.
