Here's a few recent shots, some from last night, some from the 1st. I'm actually surprised that Jupiter made a decent showing of detail last night.
Four shots of Jupiter, one of Polaris and it's companion, and a shot of Uranus.
All taken with the Meade 12" LX200R, Fuji S5100 DSLR, 32mm Celestron Plossl, at various exposures. All four Jupiter shots are stacks from video, the Uranus shot is a stack of 24 jpg frames, and the Polaris shot is a single jpg.
This shot, I used Paint Shop and raised the gamma to show the two moons better.
I spent a good amount of timew out last night, and shot some pics of Andromeda, the Double Dluster, the Wild Duck Cluster, and the Lagoon Nebula. Unfotunately, they all didn't look too good, so they went to the recycle bin. The shots of Andromeda were okay. You could definitely see it, but it just looked like a bright fuzzball. I'm pretty sure my DSLR isn't good enough to capture any good detail out of it. I'll have to see the next time I'm out at the inlaws under dark skies if it shows up any better.
