It's been quite some time since I've gotten the chance to get outside. I hate the cold. Plus the skies have been quite a bit on the lousy side. Here's a pic from Friday the tenth. If anyone wants to see more of my stuff, go to photobucket.com and type "katodog" in the search.

I like the aircraft whizzing by the daytime Moon. I noticed in the gallery, that the plane is captured during it's travel. Did you just keep snapping away?

I took a gander at your many images Kdog, and here are my favorites:

This is quite cool. One can see the contrail heat nicely.

This Mars one is nice. Good polar cap, atmosphere and terrestial markings.

I like these two lunar shots. The terminator is always a great point interest for study. The whole lunar world looks so lonely.

Nice banding and GRS. You could probably capture GRS jr. quite easily.

Perhaps you could provide the details on the shots.

You have a great number of cool and interesting astronomical images. You display good astrophotographer aptitude.

The pic I posted yesterday of the airplane and moon was one shot out of five. I set the camera for 5 shot continuous and left everything else on auto settings. The shots were at 2 megapixels. I often use the higher pixel rates for bigger photos. That way I can get a larger photo with greater detail. This works great, because sometimes if you try to blow a picture up, it gets funky.

As to the other pics, here goes...

Any Mars or Jupiter pics of any decency are done by my cousin, Mark. He's got the clock drive on his C8, so he can track. He has quite a large assortment of excellent pics. I've got a whole folder on my harddrive of just his stuff.

The pic of the airplane flying through the moon was taken July 9 of '05, 6" reflector, Fuji S5000 DSLR, 25mm eyepiece

The second two moon shots, the one on the left was Sept 23 of '04, 6" reflector Fuji S5000 DSLR, 25 mm eyepiece. The one on the right was July 3 of '05, 6" reflector, Fuji, 25mm.

Did you go through the whole album? How'd you like it? That's about a quarter of the pics I have.

I noticed something odd about the jet/Moon pic you submitted. Upon further software enhancement I noticed that the jet was flying a banner...

I forgot to mention I was the pilot and I had my 3 year old daughter outside on the tail holding the banner. How could that have slipped my mind??
