Cheech Marin in Person

This Saturday, the 18th of June, Cheech without Chong will be at the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

If any Chicago area Chicago Astronomers wish to see him and his art, I invite all to come on down...as it's free!I intend to be there and take a couple of images to post here.

I remember his appearance on "Celebrity Jeopardy". He was sharp as a tack and the most impressive celeb player on that show I had ever seen (he won of course). I won't be able to see him but have a good time.

There's more to Cheech than the image projected. Too bad he wasn't allowed to drive the Barracuda in "Nash Bridges". I understand he has the largest collection of Mexican art in the world! I still have the Cheech and Chong albums of the '70's, and find them quite funny.

It's like George Carlin. He has funny material on life's stupid occurances, but...he's quite an intelligent and deep individual. I remember him on a Bob Costa interview, where he played classical piano, quoted the masters and wasn't your typical bonehead comic. I saw him in a different light after that.

Should be a fun day with Cheech. Hope I get good pics!
