The Chicago Astronomer returns to Evanston's lakefront

The Chicago Astronomer returns to Evanston this Saturday, (20 July) for more urban astronomy and astro chat with our fans. Our last appearance was a blast as we shared views through telescopes and engaged sky lovers in all levels of Astro chat. The Chicago Astronomer will be the Resident guide to the stars for this observational season in Evanston.

Evanston requires registration for this event.

A wonderful time at Evanston's Clark Square Park

In our first of a series of Public Observation sessions in Evanston, we had a solid turn-out of sky lovers at our lakefront site. With three telescopes, our visitors had a great time as we explained how telescopes work and targets objects out in the lake as we waited for Moonrise at 8:22 pm.

With Moonrise working its way past the horizon haze, we all turned our scopes toward the rising Full Buck Moon...

Our session ended about 10:00 pm and the Chicago Astronomer crew satisfied in another successful observation event...
