Today's lookin at the Sun...
The Sun has been quite active of recent and we all enjoyed a solid Auroral display earlier in May. The source of the X Flares is still active as it swung around the far side and re-appearing earth-side for perhaps another CME event. It previous designation was "AR3664" and now it's new I.D is "AR3697"
The disturbance area is still shedding high energy plasma by metric tons and am incredibly long Filament can be seen adjacent to the lighter "Phalge" area, the source of the X-Flares.
SOHO has captured the latest eruption from orbit...
I'll keep monitoring it from Chicago and anticipate another event.
Also,
To assist in the imaging, I got this auxiliary 5.5" display touch screen to sit on top of the Canon T7i. The touch adjustments are only for the aux screen, which displays a lot of information. Not totally sold on it, but it does provide a more comfortable viewing for focusing and other adjustments....the only drawback is that I lose the touch abilities on the camera body screen for exposure control and have to manually use the buttons. Not cool.
