Svbony Filter Drawer
New to the Chicago Astronomer gear is this Filter Drawer. Saw it for heavy discount, so I grabbed it for pocket change.
I have a manual Filter wheel already, but rarely use it, as it's hefty and adds a lot of weight to the optical train...
One must unscrew the cover and load filters...then reinstall the cover . The thumb wheel is nice to rotate the filters, but it's only a 1.25" size filter holder, leaving out my 2" ones.
This new one accommodates both the 1.25" & the 2" filters...although just one at a time, but that is fine with me....
...with an easy slide in/out drawer and what's nice is the magnetic grab so that the drawer does not fall out...
Comes in a nice durable plastic case, although it's rather bulky. I will reuse the case for something else with my gear. I will put it to a shake-out test sometime soon, but I like the option of this filter drawer.
