My Astro crew here and I have been together for three months, exploring all aspects of the cosmos, from Spaccrafts to telescopes to alien life...and still we didn't have enough time and jus scratched the surface. End of terms is always a melancholy time for me, as I say goodbye to solid students and close out this Fall 2023 term. All of these astro students earned their paid positions via essays and interviews, beating out over 500 applicants who applied to my very popular Astronomy program.
I have always recognized my students with Certificates of Completion throughout my Instruction career in both the Poilce Dept & Astronomical fields. My teens here also earned their Telescopes to take home and keep - special edition table top Dobsonian type with Robert Reeves signature, a renowned Lunar photographer and expert.
Here are my Fall 2023 students...
All eager young men & women whom I'll miss will present their "Showcase" projects - including a scale model of the International Space Station, but many will return for another opportunity to share in the ASM Astronomy experience with me. I now prepare for a two week "Winter Immersion" session in January, where we will discuss the Biases and obstacles encountered in Space Exploration from mechanical/engineering problems to human created issues such as racisms and prejudice. This two week class usually grabs the young persons attention and enrolls in my full term program for Spring 2024. The only fully dedicated full time Astronomy program in the city.
