The Chicago Astronomer Returns to Graver Park

We had such a blast at our 1st visit last year at Graver Park on the City's far south side, that we scheduled a return visit for 2023. (The Chicago Astronomer schedules our public observation events a year in advance). Although the skies were not conducive to telescope viewing, I brought my monitor in anticipation of my cloudy night/mini-lectures to engage our fans. We discussed the Solar System and night sky with a lot of questions from adults and kids alike. Good energy all around.
We had Chicago Astronomer crew member Tom at the ready, just in case the skies opened up with clear patches, but the best we could do was grab the star Vega for a scant for moments. What we really enjoy is the sharing of the skies with our fans through our telescopic equipment and we are eager to return (pending decent skies) on Saturday, the 30th of September 2023 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
