Chicago Astronomer Al Degutis has notified the Chicago Astronomers membership that the binary star RS Ophiuchi has brightened and is visible to the naked eye...a first in 21 years! It's shining now at 5.5 mag, but the Moonlight may interfere with appreciation of the flare up, but this event has been anticipated for quite some time..
