Fellow Astronomy buddies,
Here is an updated listing of the participants for the upcoming IMAX special viewing of the Grand Canyon on the 19th of January:
Rajasi, Arvind, John & Michael, Brian & Claire, Steve, Vladi, Jeff, Al & Judy, Bill, Linda & Alfred and Liz & I.
And I still have a few tickets left too!
I would prefer if we all met at the IMAX area at 6:00 pm and gather, take a head count, take a group shot and get our tickets for the 6:45 showing. Then after, with our stomachs all queasy from the movie, we can go elsewhere for some drinks. Note: Not responsible for the after effects!
Here are Rajasi's possible stop over suggestions in where to dine and drink:
Joe's Bebop - www.joesbebop.com/menu.html
It's a Jazz cafe with good southern style food. Also has vegetarian stuff for Arvind.
Charlie's Ale House - www.charliesalehouse.com/
Now I have never been to this place, but I really want to give it a try.. it seems good. So if you all dont mind spending like 10-15 bucks after an entree then I would say, let's go here. Again, we should be able to get vegetarian food here for Arvind.
There is always everyone's favorite Billy Goat Tavern.
(Personal opinion: Not a great fan of Billy Goats. Overpriced for substandard eats.)
I'll send out a reminder on the week of the event with updated information.
Also...Regrettably, I do not think I will join you all for the Museum of Science and Industry visit. Liz and I had planned to explore the joint already and I think it will be just the two of us. But hanging out with the crew is always fun and we need to do more joint outings. And on that...working on a field trip to the Dearborn Observatory when it gets warmer. Keep an eye open for more details.
See most of you on Friday for Far Out Friday activities.
