Fellow Adler crew,
I must say that I had a pleasant time at this FOF. No great masses to service, but instead a slow even paced evening which allowed me to get better aquatinted with the Mac power book that Bill and I came across recently. It has Starry Night 3.1 on it, and we can use it to show the public various celestial objects on both clear and cloudy nights. It's rather klunky and slow, but it can still be a useful tool. I'm thinking about donating one of my older but functioning pc machines so that we may better use astronomical tools such as Cartes De Ciel, Celesta, HNsky etc... The pc would be better in loading programs and updating files via thumbdrives, cd's etc... If we could establish an internet connection at the observation areas that would be great, as we could use the SLOOH project availability there as well. Lemmie think on that a bit.
There will be full sized pics of the activities on the Chicago Astronomer under the Adler board.
See all soon at the AstroOvernight, IMAX Grand Canyon viewing and at our other gatherings.
