Fellow Chicago Astronomers and Adler crew...
The special preview screening of the new IMAX film: Roving Mars was quite incredible. The comments exchanged afterwards from the crew were almost of a religious experience. My favorite piece was the uninterrupted sequence from launch to landing without narrative. We hear all the intricate sounds and follow along the outside of the spacecraft in joint sojourn.

I would like to read about your review of the film, either on the forum, or just in an email to me. I can post them for you, but perhaps you caught something that I did not or just plain loved it/hated it.
I was happy to share the event with my fellow astro pals and glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Also...
Sometimes we plan mini star parties well in advance, or more commonly...at the spur of the moment, when the skies clear and motivation sweeps us up. I receive last moment calls from you and off we go...but it's quite time consuming calling each and every one of you to join us. We do post our intentions on the Chicago Astronomer Forum of our plans, but sometimes it isn't efficient and you don't read them in time. (Example: Bill and I shared a Saturn opposition viewing Friday evening.)
But there may be a easy solution.
If you desire to be notified of our gatherings, I can simply text all of you on your cell phones with a brief message. Just send along your cell phone number to me, (I think I have most), but just in case send it anyway. I'll include you in the next mass cell phone text message of the Chicago Astronomer. Then if inclined, you can join us in a session with your favorite scope or just to bum off one of ours. All cool.
See all soon.
