Fellow Astronomer and friend Larry Silvestri conducts successful public star parties at the Indiana Dunes/Kemil Beach Parking lot...and he has the greatest luck with clear skies for all his events...! This session will be clear and dry... 
The Chicago Astronomers will head out to join Larry and set-up telescopes, sharing views with beach visitors and taking some astrophotgraphy shots in relatively darker skies and 40 miles away from the city...

We have been here before and always have a great time...and travel time is only about an hour or so away...
We will arrive about 7:30 pm and remain till we want to leave, as the Park Rangers allows Larry and his crew to remain under the stars for as long as they desire. This is a free and family friendly session....all are welcome to share deeper and darker skies with us.
