Greetings, I live near the lakefront in Evanston.   Getting ready to dabble in sidewalk astronomy and imaging.   Years ago I once brought my old Celestron C8 to North and Wells. I'd be interested in hearing from locals about good locations, gatherings, etc. 

I recently got a skywatcher pro 100 mm and have gotten some good views from my balcony in spite of the city lights.
