Star Party at Palmer Park

The Chicago Astronomer crew and the Chicago Park District will conduct our next joint pubic observation session at Palmer Park located in Chicago's far south side, (201 E. 111th st).  We will most likely set-up telescopes close to the field house and attend to our fans and park visitors from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

Saturn and Jupiter will be the highlights, but we can tease out summer objects for our visitors during this session...

Stop by for a fun time with the cosmos and Astronomers.

(This event is contingent on weather conditions and  a Go/No Go status and will be decided Thursday afternoon.  If cancelled, we will reschedule. Check here and the Chicago Astronomer social media feeds for updates.)

Tonight's Public Observation session at Palmer Park has been cancelled, due to weather conditions.

The Chicago area is under a low pressure system and a warm front from the south will bring storms to us this evening, washing out any chance of telescope and astronomers. 

We will reschedule our session at Palmer park in September - stay tuned for the exact date and details.

Our back-up raindate for the cancelled Palmer Park Chicago Astronomer Star Party will be this Wednesday at 7:30 pm on Chicago's far south side - 201 E. 111th St

The weather will be cool and crisp and a great time to catch setting Saturn for the season and the crescent Moon at sundown.  We will attend to our park visitors till 10:00 pm and enjoy the urban skies with fans and friends.

Look for the flashing red lights of our scopes and stop by.
