On Saturday evening (Feb 21 in North America) Jupiter’s Galilean satellite #2 Europa will transit #1 Io while covering 82% of Io’s diameter. Shortly afterward Europa’s shadow will annularly and virtually centrally eclipse Io.

Since I squandered my chance at a clear sky last night because it was too cold, the weather gods will probably deny me the gift of a clear sky tomorrow. Not that the weather forecast said that exactly, but I can read between the lines. I must be punished.
