The Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's annual Cherry Springs Star Party took place last month from June 26th to June 29th at the Cherry Springs State Park in Potter County, Pennsylvania.  This park offers some of the darkest skies east of the Mississippi and a number of amenities geared towards amateur astronomers.

The 2014 Cherry Springs Star Party turned out to be a resounding success. It had the biggest turnout on record and an estimated 800 people were on the field for the public observing portion of the star party on Saturday night.

I had the plate that was in my right shoulder for almost a year removed the previous week so I wasn't able to attend the star party this year.
