Solar imaging Sunspots on a cold and windy fall afternoon
13 November 2013
I took some time this afternoon to image two potentially high energy areas of the Sun that will most likely burp out flares or even a CME....
Atmospheric condition were not optimal this day and imaging was soft. I could not tease out granulation, but some brighter faculae came through and a nice freckling. Sunspots #1890 through #1899 are setting themselves up some energetic event.
I like this next shot...
Good texture and detail.
Using the uber simple Nikon Coolpix pocket camera and eyepiece adapter via 2" MaxView II eyepiece on the C102mm Refractor and full aperture Baader solar filter, the results are acceptable.
