The 26% illuminated waning crescent Moon will occult the +3.5 magnitude star Epsilon Tauri for observers in portions of the Americas (including Chicagoland) during the early morning of 2013 AUG 01. Folks on a graze path will be able to witness the star winking on and off as lunar hills and valleys pass by. Those located between the two graze paths can watch a full occultation. Immersion will occur on the lunar bright limb and emersion on the dark limb.

Maybe I'll see if the weather will allow. It's hard enough for me to fall asleep on a week night. I'm usually just finally falling asleep when this occultation is due to occur. If I somehow wind up observing it, I PM you the observation site details, most likely from home.
