The fireballs of Russia were pieces of a flaming comet

1- They came all of a sudden and unexpectedly.
2- There were many fireballs with very bright light more than the sun disc.
3- They were accompanied by tremendous blasts.
4- They were attracted to the frozen regions.

If that's true, why would they head toward the sun at all? Why not just turn the car around and go slam into Neptune or head to deep space? Can't get much colder than that.

Yes, comets are attracted to frozen or very cold regions more than they come to hot regions.

Correction of the mistake of astronomers about comets:

I know this probably won't get you to change your mind, but I am posting it here so that others can see.

The common conception of comets as dirty snowballs needs revising, but they are not flaming. Scientists know this because we have sent space probes out to pass near comets and they sent back pictures. One of those probes, Star Dust, even passed through the tail of a comet and returned to earth with samples of the particles in the tail.

Religious dogma can never be utilized for scientific explanations, as the writers knew nothing of quasi-modern empirical reasoning and attempted to explain the environment around them in terms of the day.

Fire requires oxygen, space is a virtual vacuum.

No...there is no fire in space.

Charged Plasma...now that's something else.

Thanks to God, that they now think it reasonable to revise their past mistake of the "dirty snow"

It is part of the sun, which is very hot, and we said "flaming" : it is only a matter of expression: I mean it is part of the solar body: which has a nuclear activity. This explains why the comet keeps to be very hot for some considerable time: until it reaches the Earth and the other planets and moons.

There is much confusion and overlapping about the difference between : the comet, the meteorite, the meteor, the asteroid.

What they saw and investigated looks like some asteroid or meteoritic rock rather than a comet which is a flaming object, or plasma as do some astronomers here call.

The thing that makes many men here hesitating is the "religion."

This is not any comet: it is almost an asteroid or a meteoritic rock.

The comet is part of the solar body: it may preserve some nuclear activity, which was detected in the site of the Tunguska impact in Siberia.
