I have been having great luck in a string of clear days to image the face of the Sun. Another cold blistery day did not halt the effort....
Going back to the 90mm Meade Refractor, the 11" full aperature filter and using the handy Samsung 14mp pocket camera...I capture the development of the new Sunspot group #1660...
Taking shots with different white balance settings, produces different clarities....
Tungsten, cloudy, Fluorescent High and Fluorescent Low all come out nicely.
The emboss and Bas-relief are great to examine the texture of the Solar surface for any new artifacts, but so far, it's just this group and the lone sunspot below...

A little fun with a post productions filter...
With this string of clear sky imaging, I am able to demonstrate solar rotation...
I like that I captured the new sunspot group that popped up between the 20th & the 21st of January.
Let's see if I can make a movie out of this....
