The Chicago Astronomer wins a iPad Mini from Celestron Telescopes
This will make a great enhancement to the Chicago Astronomer arsenal...assisting in bringing smiles of enjoyment for our fans and visitors at our star parties and activities.
I think I will use it as a Virtual Digital Setting Circle for the C11 Beast - picking out those faint fuzzies. Together with the Toshiba tablet, this Ipad Mini will cover all the bases in instruction and visual demonstration of urban astronomy.
Thank you to Celestron Telescopes for the chance in winning this great tool - assisting the Chicago Astronomer crew in sharing the night skies with Chicago area skylovers. I am humbled to have been randomly picked out of the thousands who submitted.

I'm excited about the win.
The iPad Mini is about as think as a pencil and very light. Great for the C11.
I should be getting it after the 14th of January...
My name is Andrea Tabor and I'm the Social Media Coordinator with Celestron. Congratulations! You won our Turn Screen Time into Sky Time Sweepstakes and will receive the prize of a new iPad Mini loaded with our SkyQ Astronomy app!
Please let me know where you would like the iPad shipped. We will be attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week, but we will ship it out to you when we return to the office on January 14th.
Thanks for joining us on Facebook, and Congratulations!!!

The Celestron iPAd Mini came in.....
My iPad, that I won from from the good folks at Celestron, came in today. It was here yesterday, but I wasn't home and UPS took it back. I left a note with instruction to toss it onto my porch behind the locked gate.
It was very nicely packed and I like the way Apple boxes their products...
It's very thin...
I set it up and became a member of the fold.
The back is a nice matt charcoal black...with some writing at the top...
So very cool.
I appreciate this note from Celestron and with the entire package wrapped and new.
This will certainly be a great addition to the Chicago Astronomer arsenal - where thousands will appreciate the technology and desire to connect with the night skies. I can't wait to explore the astronomical apps.
