I think Curt will like this week's Eyes on the Sky, as it focuses on the slim crescent Moons found in the early morning sky just before new Moon, and the very young crescent Moon in the early evening sky later in the week.

Also, there are some easy-to-find double stars in Orion that can be spotted (even from the city!) using binoculars or a small telescope. Plus, Paulie, Barb and Joe will undoubtedly remember the "Creation's Fire" asterism that the Maya saw in Orion as I highlight a bit different perspective of some bright stars in that part of the sky.

Ha! Well, I don't want to cross the Roddenberry folks by using their characters / show without permission.

I figured the Moon on the 21st would be a rather difficult one for most of my viewers, but that will definitely be a good challenge for the CA folks! Anyone up for it (assuming we get clear weather)?
